Meeting in Inspectorate for Environmental Protection

On September 8, 2015 dr. Małgorzata Plechawska-Wójcik and dr. Marek Miłosz participated in a meeting organized in the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Lublin. Guests from the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU, Norway), Ministry of Environment, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the Chief Inspectorate and the Embassy of Norway were also attending in the meeting.

The meeting included introduction to procedures and equipment used in the laboratory of the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and measuring stations in Pulawy, Lublin and Zamosc. An important element was to exchange experiences related to the implementation of projects in the field of environmental protection.

During the meeting the MADEM project was presented, as well as proposed by the Technical University project of indiscriminate use of mobile stations, low-cost, maintenance-free, connectionless, powered by solar energy, for fast measurements and data transfer, combined into a single network for monitoring dust (MobAM – mobile system for air quality monitoring) .

Study visit in Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection

On June 12, 2015 held a study visit employees of the LUT in the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Lublin. Five people from the University of Technology attended, including Mrs. Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Dean of the Faculty for. Students, director of the Institute of Computer Science and MADEM project management. From the RIEP the meeting was attended by the Chief Inspector and his deputy.

During the meeting, univeristy staff presented a MADEM project and opportunities for cooperation between the University and RIEP. Employees were able to see the station, laboratories, measuring devices, including mobile devices. During the meeting developed ideas for joint implementation (including primarily in the field of mobile applications for monitoring and environmental protection) and established another meeting.

Employees of the LUT also visited the meteorological stations in Lublin – Krasnystaw, Zamosc, Biały Słup, Krasnobrod, Tomaszów Lubelski, Hrubieszów, Chelm and Wlodawa.

The result of the study visit is to familiarization with existing solutions in the region in the field of environmental monitoring and exchange of experience in creating mobile solutions dedicated to environmental protection.

The documentation of study was completed

The taskDevelopment of plans of study” was completed.

The plans and programs of study containing a grid, syllabi, learning outcomes, graduate profile, entry requirements, regulations, rules of recruitment and other elements of the training program were finalized. The task also covered the creation of the curriculum for specialization, development of syllabi for 19 subjects, creating documents for learning outcomes, graduate profile and standard of thesis.

All documentation will be published on the project after approval by the Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
